While Phyllis and I were enjoying some great hikes, camping and our wild river ride down the Coosawattee, the kids spent most of their July with their dad! They had a great time at Dollywood and Splash Country! I realize how lucky we are every day for all the wonderful blessings in our lives, but as I look at these pictures, I am even more amazed! Despite all the trials and tribulations we have all been through, we have managed to blend our families and get along with each other! It is never easy, but if everyone is always fighting it just makes it so much harder! I am very thankful the kids have a wonderful father who takes the time to bring joy to their lives! It is hard enough being a step-parent, but when you are at odds with the other parent, again, it just makes it harder! I think we all work hard to make sure all the kids know they are loved and safe and protected! I would love to say that every thing is always perfect, but nothing is perfect! We have our struggles, disagreements and issues that we have to deal with, but I believe that we have created an amazing family even though it may be complicated sometimes! Nothing worth having comes easy and the struggle is what often makes life worthwhile! I think you always have to try to work together to meet everyone’s needs involved and while at times we all fail at that, if the effort is made it means so much!
