Coosawattee River May 2016

Finally, back on the river! Set out at 8:45 am at Carter’s Dam and took out at 6 PM in Calhoun! 26 miles total! An amazingly beautiful day! Saw more wildlife than we have ever seen. Many heron, a Bald Eagle, horned owl, dozens of ducks with many babies, a river otter or mink, not so sure, but small, dozens of turtles and so many birds we couldn’t count! The river was so peaceful and beautiful and it was a much needed day of relaxation! With this trip, we have now completed the entire course of the Coosawattee River! Feels like an accomplishment and I hope we finish many others! Gonna finish off the rest of the Oostanaula River on our next voyage! Love spending the time on the river with my beautiful wife, Phyllis Maggard Allee! Can’t wait for the next one!!!
