We always do something special for Abby’s birthday, but truthfully, it is in the Fall when things are hectic and it is the day after our anniversary and we usually end up being able to plan more for the boy’s birthday! Now, Abby of course, gets to do all of the boy’s activities, but they are the center of attention.
Well, I saw a chance to change that just a little. When we first got to Nashville, we walked down Music Row and Abby saw all of the horse drawn carriages! She fell in love with them. We even stopped and let her pet one of the mules pulling one of the carriages, but I told her we just couldn’t do them and we moved on!
The night of the concert, we got to the downtown area early and had dinner and walked around for a while! When we came to the carriages again, they were all lit up and one was like a princess’s carriage. I walked into a store like I was ignoring the carriages and told Phyllis to stop and ask how much they were! When we told Abby we were going to take a ride, she just about fell over! She was so excited when she climbed up into the carriage! The whole time she kept saying she felt like a princess! She was so happy and it was all about her! It made her trip!
When we finished our ride, she had to pet Judy, the donkey, of course! She had the best time and I am so happy I could give her that experience and make it just about her! She was so grateful and so sweet when she hugged me and thanked me! She is a wonderful young lady and a wonderful daughter! It was more than worth it!
