Media Centers and Featured Programs

The programs below will be ones that I feature this year each month. I do one Program a Month for Amy Scott Silvers at Redbud elementary. I would love to do these for other media centers or other schools. I do six 45-60 minute Programs a day depending on your daily schedule. Since I book them all day and the travel and prep times are less, I give a discount on the price of the Programs. I charge $200 for the whole day. That is 6 full class Programs which if booked individually, would cost $50 each or $300 for the day.I can block most of my other Programs in the same way for the same price. It doesn’t have to be through the media center, but that is an easy way to manage the scheduling for all grades. If you would be interested in this kind of booking or have questions, let me know.

August The Book Thief- If you’ve read the book, it is a heart breaker, but the ultimate message is that books and reading can save us in the worst situations. It’s set in the Holocaust and I will play Death, who is the narrator.

September Johnny Appleseed-The story of Johnny Appleseed

October Scary Stories to Tell In the Dark-The movie coming out looks really scary. I’ll tell different stories to each grade making the ones for the younger ones less scary. I’ll play a character like a crypt keeper or grave digger

November America’s White Tablecloth-This is one for Veterans and the military. I will play a soldier and explain the White Table and then tell some stories about American Heroes. It can be any time in November. I’ll also gear it toward Thanksgiving and being thankful for all of those that have given us our freedom.

December The Grinch-I’ll dress as the Grinch and tell the story and then pose for Pictures.

January AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh-I’ll play the author and tell about the origins of Pooh and the other characters. Milne’s birthday is January 18.

February Pecos Bill and the Wild West-Another Tall Tale! This will be a wild, rip roaring tall tale! Should be fun!

March Dr. Seuss-Of course I have the Cat, but I’ll have 6-8 other Seuss ones you can choose from: Thing 1 Horton and The Who Yertle the Turtle Sam I Am The Lorax Working on a few others that should be ready.

April James Herriot and Earth Day-This is one I’m still a little up on the air on. It centers on Earth day, animals etc and stories that were hugely popular in the 1980s. I’m working on it.

May Don Quixote-This is one that I think will be a blast! I have a great costume I put together for one in Texas and I’m going to use it and the wild adventures of Don Quixote for a wild end of the year! Cervantes for kids!! I think you will love it!
