There are days when it is hard to drag yourself out of bed. There are days when you have to think hard about why you are doing all the things you have to do! There are days when everything seems to be a struggle and when everything seems to go wrong! Then there are days like today! Days that are so special you want to ingrain every moment on your brain so that you will never forget! Sometimes the adventure isn’t the destination, but the people with whom you share the adventure! While the 16 mile trip on the Etowah was another amazing adventure, it was an easy paddle from Hwy 411 to Grizzard Park, with some beautiful, tranquil sites, it was the company that made the day one I will lock in my memories to relive over and over on all those other days when the going is difficult! Spending the day with my amazing son before he heads to Spain for a year was the greatest part of the adventure today! Sharing that with the most amazing woman I have ever met and with whom I love sharing such adventures, truly made this one of those special days in life! Sometimes you realize in a moment how special something is! Every site, every small rapid, every idle conversation was a moment I knew at the time I would cherish! We saw many heron, turtles, fish, dragon flies, butterflies and so many other things, but their beauty didn’t compare to the beauty of the love I feel for my son and my wife! I thank God for this day and know that it is a gift that will fill my heart on many other days! I hope everyone finds days like today in their lives so that when those tough days come up they won’t be so tough anymore!
