We made two major exploratory trips this week on Lake Guntersville! Next summer we hope to paddle from Lake Nickajack Dam to Lake Guntersville Dam, a total of 76 miles! We did a total of about 12 hours and around 15 miles on the lake and found some good camping spots and some good land marks for our long trip. One of the hardest things on our 50 miles down the Tennessee Blueway last summer was not being sure exactly where we were or how far we had to go to our next stop. I hope to avoid that this summer with these short excursions! At the same time, I really needed to be on the water again! It had been several weeks since we had been out in the canoe and I had been sick for a week! This really rejuvenated me for the home stretch for the rest of this semester! Spending time with my love, Phyllis, is always amazing and we had a great time on this beautiful trip! The leaves are still incredible and the weather was perfect, even if it was a little cool for Phyllis in the mornings! We saw some amazing wildlife and have a couple of humorous stories to add to our memories! I will share those in the near future for any of you who are interested!
