Patriot’s Point-Christmas 2016

Rather than buy a whole lot of things we didn’t really need or have the space for, Phyllis and I gave each other a trip to Charleston for Christmas! It was an amazing week and I will be posting a lot of pictures so if you aren’t interested, you can skip these! We had some wonderful adventures and made some great memories! Our holidays were very different this year, but thanks to our trip with the kids and our trip together, we had one of the best holidays! We missed some traditions and we missed some people we would have like to spend more time with, but hopefully we can add those experiences soon! There just isn’t enough time to squeeze everything in!
On our first full day in Charleston, we had to postpone a surprise gift I had for Phyllis due to weather, but I’ll tell later how that turned out to be a much better gift! Due to the rain that day, we headed to Patriot’s Point and the USS Yorktown which is mostly inside the ship! The weather cooperated and we had plenty of time to see everything outside without getting wet! I had been here before, but many years ago, so this was an amazing return that brought back many memories! The ship and other exhibits are so thought provoking and inspiring! To think of all those who lived and risked their lives so that we could enjoy our freedoms is awesome! We spent about half the day exploring every part of the ship and the other exhibits! We both loved the experience! It was the perfect lead in for the rest of the day!!
