Lake Conasauga with Glenn and Anna-July 2018

Since the very first time we explored the wilderness and began our adventures in hiking and canoeing, Lake Conasauga has been our favorite place! We have been to many other beautiful places, but Conasauga, for some reason, just seems special! It is a long drive in and it is always worth the trip. The drive is part of the beauty!

This week we took Phyllis brother Glenn and sister in law Anna up to Lake Conasauga! We hiked the lake trail which is an easy and beautiful hike, and then let Abby swim! Beast and Molly enjoyed some play time and the rest of us just soaked in the beauty and the cool breeze, at least 15 degrees cooler than the bottom of the mountain! It was a beautiful day to be in the wilderness and enjoy the lake! I was very surprised at how few people were in the campground! Only 3 sites we occupied on the week of the 4th of July! It is usually almost full, but I guess with the holiday being in the middle of the week, everyone from the weekend before had gone home and those for the weekend after had not arrived! Even when the campground is full, it always feels like you are alone at Lake Conasauga! Can’t wait for our trip up here in a couple of weeks! Looking forward to a good 5-day weekend trip!

After a nice picnic lunch and a good, relaxing time at the lake, we headed back down the mountain to do a little more exploring! The dogs were good and tired and both went to sleep quickly!
