Thursday, with the kids gone and Phyllis at work, Ariana, Marcial and I headed out for a mission in Atlanta! Our first objective, food and drink…Fox Brother’s BBQ and the Coca Cola Museum! Fox Brother’s was great and we all ate our fill and then I walked the 10 blocks to the car to burn some off before I picked them up! (Their food is great, their parking is horrible! Still worth it!) On to the Coke Museum and the final room for tasting! Marcial got to experience all the world’s drinks and especially Beverly, the best drink from around the world! We had a great time at the museum, but then our final mission was to find 2 filming locations for the Walking Dead! (Marcial is a huge fan!) After a stop at the Sky Wheel so Ariana and Marcial could see all of the city from above, we began our walk to the first location, the tank scene where Rick gets trapped! We found it fairly easily and Marcial was very happy! Then we headed back to the car and drove toward the second location, the opening credits scene where Rick is riding a horse into Atlanta on the highway! After working through traffic, we made it to the bridge and walked out on it! Really cool and again, Marcial loved it! We also spotted a sign that was part of a Walking Dead scavenger hunt! While we wanted to follow, we had no idea how far it went, so we decided to let it go! With our missions accomplished, we pulled into traffic and thanks to Hurricane Matthew, we sat in traffic and inched our way to Town Center in about 2 hours along with half of Florida evacuating! Our last major stop, Ariana’s favorite restaurant, California Dreamin’! The irony isn’t lost on the fact that they came from California to eat in a restaurant named after California! Ariana loved her salad, but I don’t think Marcial was impressed!! We finally made it home at around 9:30! A long, but wonderful day! Our last one out of town! Still some more time together, but as I went to sleep that night, I could feel the clock ticking on our time and the fact that they would be leaving soon! I really hate goodbyes!
