We have had so many things going on that I did not have time to post the last 2 parts of our anniversary weekend from a few weeks ago. On our last day at Guntersville, we packed up and headed toward Cathedral Caverns! I had never really heard of the cavern, but I picked up a brochure along the way that looked really cool so we decided to check them out! We arrived a little before the first tour at 10am and headed out almost as soon as we got there! The opening to the cave is incredible and it is well developed! The temperature dropped 10-15 degrees as we went further in and the light faded! The pictures just do not do the amazing sites in this cave justice! I have been to other caves that are much more famous, but I think this one was one of the best I have ever seen! It’s a long easy walk in and out and our guide was a high school junior that did a great job on the history of the cave and the sights inside! As we left the cave and the temperature went back up, my only wish was that we could camp somewhere inside! (You can’t camp, but you can have a wedding deep in the cave! How cool would that be?) Off we went for once last bit of exploration on our way home! Maybe one Gorge too far for Phyllis!
